Distinguished Speaker Series
The Distinguished Speaker Series is modeled after the Commandant’s Lecture Series
of the U.S. Army War College. As an enhancement to the core curriculum, DAU will
sponsor lectures that permit leaders from the military, academia, and industry
to share their considerable insights and experiences with the fellows.
In the 2009-2016 SSCF Programs, guest speakers have included Mr. Gary Martin,
SES, Program Executive Officer for Command, Control and Communications-Tactical;
Ms. Barbara Panther, SES, Director, Civilian Human Resources Agency; MG Daniel
P. Hughes, Program Executive Officer, Command, Control, Communications (Tactical)
(PEO-C3T); Lieutenant General Michael E. Williamson, Principal Military Deputy
Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics & Technology) and Director,
Acquisition Career Management; Honorable Mr. Frank Kendall, OSD Under Secretary
of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics; Honorable Dr. J. Michael
Gilmore, OSD-DOT&E; Dr. Mitch Crosswait, Deputy Director Net-Centric, Space and
Missile Defense Systems, OSD-DOT&E; Retired General Carl Vuono, Senior Vice
President & President & COO, L-3 Services Group; and Retired Lieutenant General
Paul T. Mikolashek to name but a few.
The small group settings allow the fellows’ personal one-on-one time to
hear and interact with senior leaders with different backgrounds and
experiences and multiple points of view.
