On behalf of our Engineering & Technology teammates here at DAU, wanted to let the community that know that DAU has fielded two new web-based Information Technology learning assets for the Defense Acquisition Workforce. They are ISA 220 Risk Management Framework for the Practitioner and CLE 076 Introduction to Agile Software Acquisition.
ISA 220, which takes approximately ten hours to complete, is a multi‐disciplinary professional development course that supports the Department of Defense (DoD) transition to the federally mandated Risk Management Framework (RMF). It provides all defense acquisition disciplines with an understanding of the Assessment and Authorization process for Information Technology (IT) within the DoD. It provides the student with an appreciation for the RMF process from the genesis of the framework through the current cybersecurity requirements and documentation needed to secure an Authority-to-Operate (ATO). The target audience includes acquisition professionals in the Program Management, Information Technology, Life Cycle Logistics, Contracting, Test and Evaluation, Cost Estimating, and Engineering career fields.
CLE 076, which takes five hours to complete, explains what agile software acquisition is and how it works for DoD software development. The benefits and risks of agile approaches to programs are described. In addition, students learn about some pre-award contracting considerations, how to manage an Agile contract after contract award and cultural enablers and inhibitors to Agile. The target audience is the entire defense acquisition workforce.
