According to the
National Hurricane Center in Miami, FL
, Hurricane Florence is expected to skirt the coasts of North and South Carolina beginning Sept. 13 before making landfall near Willmington, NC, on Sept. 14. Coastal areas should expect flooding from 2-12 feet as a result of the storm surge. Additional flooding may occur further inland as the storm is expected to produce total rainfall accumulations of 15-20 inches. Damaging winds may also occur as far north as Virginia.
