Establishment / Student Requirement
The Director, Learning Capabilities Integration Center of DAU establishes
prerequisite coursework within the DAU curriculum as appropriate. Course
prerequisites are listed in Chapter 2 of the DAU catalog along with the course
description and other course unique information.
Per the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Technology directive
entitled, “Setting Defense Acquisition University Course Prerequisites” of
June 17th, 1999 DAU is authorized to enforce course prerequisites for its
courses. Accordingly, unless specifically waived by the student’s
Director, Acquisition Career Manager during the registration process,
students are required to meet all prerequisite coursework prior to commencing a
course.
Students may satisfy prerequisite coursework by completing the designated DAU
course; completing a course(s), program or certification that has been approved
as
equivalent to the designated DAU prerequisite course; or by
fulfilling the prerequisite course through an assessment, by the student’s
component, of the student’s previous education and training experiences against
the prerequisite course learning outcomes.
Walk-in students
Walk-in students (those students not on the class roster) will be required to
provide documentation citing successful completion of prerequisite DAU
course(s). Walk-in students who do not provide documentation will not be
admitted to the course.
The training and experience of industry
students are evaluated on a case by case basis to ensure that the student has
the potential to complete the course and to contribute industry perspective and
experience.
