Transcript / Verification of Course Attendance Request
Transcripts for courses taken at Defense Acquisition University (DAU) schools or
affiliated course providers can be obtained for those courses taken since the
inception of DAU in FY 93 and which were processed through ATRRS. If you took a
course before the establishment of DAU in FY 93, a transcript may not be
available as the school/provider may either no longer exist or may not be
required to maintain student information. DAU can only guarantee transcripts for
resident courses taken since the University was established. The DAU Student
Services will do everything possible to assist students who need course
information before 1993. If the information is in ATRRS, the information may be
readily available.
DAU Transcripts Our transcripts show only DAU courses,
not courses you have taken from other schools or continuous learning training.
By accessing the transcript program (see GET A TRANSCRIPT after this paragraph),
you can print a transcript at your desk, request an official transcript with
raised DoD seal be sent to a college, or contact the person who processes DAU
transcripts. Usually transcripts are processed within 5 working days, and you
will receive an email notice when your transcript has been processed. Processing
could take longer if research is required. Sometimes students access their
training history through the Virtual Campus. The training history from this
source shows only DL courses and continuous learning t raining, not your entire
DAU training history.
If you have questions or have trouble submitting a transcript request
online, please contact the following: Phone: 703-805-3003, DSN 655-3003, toll
free 1-888-284-4906.
CONTINUOUS LEARNING TRANSCRIPTS
Completed DAU modules will appear in a DAU CL-specific transcript which you can
access by going to the DAU Transcript Program (see above paragraph). Only
modules offered through DAU's Continuous Learning Center will be recorded on DAU
transcripts.
CANCELING A CLASS:
If you are not able to attend the class, you must officially cancel your
reservation through the
agency-specific site you used to apply. DAU cannot cancel you. If you don’t
cancel, your status will be No Show, which could prohibit you from applying for
additional courses.

Where do I get answers
to my questions about registration or the status of my application?
Contact your Service or agency. They register you.
Access the site for your Service or agency.
How will I know
if I’m registered in a class? Contact your Service or agency. DAU
has no visibility on you unless you are registered, on the wait list, or
canceled. If your Service or agency has not acted on your application, we cannot
tell you what the status of your application is.
How can I cancel my reservation in a
class? You must cancel yourself from a class. DAU does not have the
user rights to do this. If you don’t cancel a class you know you cannot attend,
you will be assigned the status of “no-show” once the class starts, which will
probably mean that your Service or agency will restrict your application rights
for the immediate future. You cancel a class by returning to the same
agency link you used to apply for the class.

How much do DAU classes cost?
At this time, DAU does not charge tuition for its courses, except for certain
foreign students. Foreign personnel, DOT-related agencies, industry, and non-DoD
federal employees fund their own members' travel and per diem costs. For
military and civilian employees, your service's acquisition career management
office (the people who register you) will determine whether they or your command
will fund your travel. You need to follow
their processes
Am I eligible to
attend DAU classes? All Service and DoD employees may attend DAU
classes. The Services and DoD non-MILDEP agencies, through their Defense
Acquisition Career Management offices (DACMs), have quotas in our classes. The
DACMs establish priorities for their own military and civilian members,
depending on such issues as whether a student is in an acquisition coded billet.
The DACMs register their own members; DAU registers most non-DoD students.
Non-DoD federal agency and defense industry employees may attend DAU courses at
no cost on a space available basis. There are some non-DoD and defense industry
quotas in DAU courses; however designated quotas are not in every class at every
location. Non-DoD applicants should understand that DoD and MILDEP employees
have precedence over all non-DoD federal agency and defense industry employees
except when there are specific quotas for these categories. This is particularly
important in the case where a federal agency or defense industry employee is
placed on a wait list, because all DoD and MILDEP employees are assigned a
higher priority on the wait list even when they are added after the non-DoD and
defense industry have been assigned a wait status.

Why haven’t
you sent my TDY orders? DAU does not prepare any orders for
students. Your Service or agency
will assist you with this issue. The agency application programs have

Does DAU have special
agreements with other schools (partnerships)? Go to an interactive
web-based “database” for DAU Strategic Partnerships to query the current listing
of DAU partnerships. Current (and prospective) DAU students can search the file
for partners in their area offering credits for DAU courses. This allows
students to obtain necessary degrees for career advancement at institutions near
their home station – enhancing quality of life. Prospective partners can search
the file for current DAU partners with which they have already worked. Click
here to go to the web based data base.

Where do I go to get my
certification? DAU only certifies it own employees. The Services and
DoD have their own certification programs. To access various links

contractors. We recommend that contractors put a package together with all the
pertinent information and to use this package to demonstrate that qualification
criteria have been met.

Can I fill out some paperwork
to demonstrate that I have fulfilled a course requirement (fulfillment)?
The fulfillment program enables Acquisition Workforce members to receive credit
for mandatory DAU courses for which they are able to demonstrate competency
through experience, education, or alternative training. The official Fulfillment
Guide is dated 1999. As of February 2005, this guide was still current.

Who do I contact if I need to get more
information about the process for establishing equivalency for a DAU course?
Information is provided at
http://icatalog.dau.mil/appg.aspx. (email:
equivalency@dau.mil).
What is the congressionally mandated ceiling to the career field?
The OUSD(DoD AT&L)/DPAP/AWCM memorandum of November 21, 2003 that established a
moratorium on designating new people or positions in the DoD AT&L workforce was
rescinded by the Acting Director, DPAP on November 9, 2005. This means that
there are no congressional limitations on the overall DoD AT&L Workforce Size.
How will the Components code positions for acquisition if the January 10, 2006
Desk Guide guidance has not been updated? In the March 2006 Working
Management Group Meeting, all Components agreed that the majority of the
functions must be acquisition related, and the position should encompass greater
than 50% acquisition related functions. The desk guide will be updated in the
future.
