DAVID D. ACKER
The Library was named in honor of David D. Acker, a Defense Systems Management College (DSMC) professor, researcher, historian, architect, author and avid library patron. During his lifetime, he authored 4 professional books and more than 175 articles and papers on acquisition and communication skills. He was an active member of the DSMC Board of Visitors and charter member of the DSMC Alumni Association. His willingness to serve the College, now the Defense Acquisition University, his love and respect for history and tradition, his desire to improve acquisition and communication skills, his optimism about the future, and his daily practice of Christian principles made him an outstanding and highly respected member of the DSMC/DAU family and the Defense community.
