Marie Greening assumed her current role as Program Manager for Aviation Support Equipment at the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) in 1999. A native of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Marie holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and a Masters of Engineering from the North Carolina State University.
She began her career in government service in 1983 at the Naval Aviation Depot, Cherry Point, North Carolina, providing engineering support to aircraft and component overhaul activities and co-leading composite repair development efforts for the AV-8B aircraft. In 1987, Ms. Greening transferred to NAVAIR, as the F/A-18 logistics configuration manager and depot programs coordinator, responsible for the stand-up of new system support and the scheduling of aircraft and component overhaul repair. Follow-on assignments were as the lead air vehicle engineer for the F/A-18 aircraft, responsible for the structural integrity of the airframe, and as the Product Support Team Leader for International Programs, where she was integral to the sale of Hornets to the governments of Switzerland and Finland, and the restoration of aircraft support capabilities by the government of Kuwait in the post-Desert Storm time frame. She was then promoted as the Product Support Team Leader for all F/A-18 aircraft and her responsibilities included logistics program management for eight international sales projects, support of the USN/USMC aircraft fleet and program development for the new E/F variant.
In 1997 she reported as the Principal Deputy, Aviation Support Equipment, and was subsequently selected to her current position, as the program manager. In this capacity she is responsible for the acquisition of $300M in annual support equipment procurements and the sustainment of a $10B inventory. Additionally she serves as the Director of the Department of Defense Automatic Test Systems Executive Agent Office charged with providing acquisition policy and achieving commonality in automatic test support solutions across tri-service applications.
Ms. Greening is a graduate of NAVAIR¹s Senior Executive Management Development Program and the Defense Systems Management College Advanced and Executive Program Managers¹ Courses. She is the recipient of numerous performance awards, including the Civilian Meritorious Service Award, has authored papers on advanced composite repair, and holds a single engine-land private pilot license.
